PHf Presents San Antonio Area High School Students with Scholarship Awards!

June 10, 2011

On May 6th of 2011, PHf presented scholarship award letters to six graduating high school seniors from the following San Antonio area high schools: John Marshall, John Jay, Communications Arts and South San.

The PHf Scholarship & Standards award selection process is led by PHf Scholarship Committee Chair Linda Gann, Secondary Mathematics Instructional Specialist (Northside ISD). "Based upon the generosity of the Priest Holmes Foundation, the scholarship committee members are so proud to share in supporting our students' future educational endeavors." "According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the median earnings compared the average income of $32,500 for a person with a high school diploma to the average income of $53,000 for a person who earned a bachelor's degree." "It does pay to continue your education onto college and as the committee chair, this provides me another avenue to continue being active in what I believe in -- education." - Linda Gann.

The PHf Scholarship & Standards Application Packet is launched annually through www.priestholmesfoundation.org and is open to Bexar County high school seniors. The scholarship committee manages the application collection process from December 15th – March 1st and scholarship recipients are selected by the committee each May.

Supporting education is one of the many ways the Priest Holmes Foundation helps young men and women to maximize their potential. Through our Scholarship and Standards Program, the foundation seeks to give students the tools they need to succeed by offering financial support to students who have shown a commitment towards continuing their education. Though the criteria may differ slightly, the scholarships all recognize extraordinary achievement, leadership, and talent.

Since 2009, PHf has awarded 42 scholarships to San Antonio area graduating high school seniors.
